Nasturtium Golden Gleam

1933 AAS Flower Award Winner

1933 AAS Gold Medal Winner with bright golden blossoms adds fragrance and color to hanging baskets, window boxes, containers, or when spilling over a low wall. Makes a good ground cover in beds and does well on a trellis or fence. Prefers not to be fertilized. Rich moist soils produce lovely foliage but few blooms. Blooms all season long until the first frost. Edible peppery tasting flowers and leaves can be used in salads and sandwiches.

HOW TO GROW

Prefers poor dry soil. It is recommended to directly sow seeds outdoors in spring when the soil has warmed. Plant seed into the garden at a depth of 1/2-1 inch in an area that gets at least 6 hours of direct sun each day. Nasturtium seedlings do not transplant well, but can be started indoors in plantable peat pots and transplanted into the garden taking care not to disturb the roots.  Blooms in 50-60 days.
