Karen Daubmann is the Director of Garden and Programs for Massachusetts Horticultural Society, starting this post in March 2022. Prior to MHS, Karen served in a variety of roles at The New York Botanical Garden for 15 years, culminating in her role as Vice President for Exhibitions and Audience Engagement. She served as Director of Horticulture at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, PA for 5 years, and as lead horticulturist at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI. Karen’s coursework in Landscape Architecture and Ornamental Horticulture at the University of Rhode Island as well as Public Garden Administration from University of Delaware combined with her internships and early work experience – Walt Disney World, Callaway Gardens, East Farm Experimental Station present a broad view of horticulture emphasizing visitor engagement in understanding the plant world.
