Salvia Summer Jewel™ Pink
2012 AAS Bedding Plant Winner
Salvia Summer Jewel™ Pink

Sister to earlier AAS Winner Salvia Summer Jewel™ Red, this dwarf-sized compact plant has a prolific bloom count throughout the growing season. As a bonus, the blooms appear almost two weeks earlier than other pink salvias used as comparisons. And of course, the hummingbirds love pink, just as much as they do red!

This plant had an excellent germination rate and bloomed all season long here in Zone 6 in Northeast Massachusetts. By August they had started to self-sow and produced even more plants. Flowers were frequently visited by pollinators, particularly bumble bees. Plants remained compact and tidy despite heat waves and record breaking rain in July. A definite staple in my garden going forward.
